Ridgecrest, California is where I cut my teeth riding dirt bikes. There is no better place on earth than the middle of the Mojave Desert to hone your skills as an off-road rider. Competing in the SoCal off-road racing scene in the 70's, 80's an 90's was a remarkable experience I'll never forget. These years were my dirt bike roots; the basis for my devotion and addiction to the sport of off-road motorcycling.

I've been very fortunate to live in places capable of satisfying my hardy craving for the sport; the lower desert of Palm Springs CA, high desert of Lucerne Valley, the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and currently here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

I have competed in many off-road events including - MX, Enduro, Hare & Hound, Hare Scrambles, European Scrambles, Qualifiers, Grand Prix, etc. My favorite of all events is a good old fashioned District37 Hare & Hound. There's nothing like lining up next to a couple of hundred riders on a dead-engine start and waiting for the flag to drop. Then holding the throttle wide open to the "Bomb" and for the next 100 miles of dust, rocks and sage brush.

I have since throttled back on my desire to compete but I will never lose my passion to ride!
